Push, Push And Don't Give Up!

This week has been super nuts with lots of activities, and me trying to fit in my fitness.  Our Kefi party is on Saturday, and between the planning of that energy bash and my regular daily tasks I'm forced to PUSH through this week's workouts.  Can't stop the train because of an extra load, I simply have to adapt.

Today, Thursday, was the first workout I completed for the week.  I did back to back last week Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday so it was good to break for a few days, I needed to catch up early this week.  Anyhow, today I did some splits during a 3 mile run.  Five minute warm-up, followed by intervals of :30 at a 6.0 sprint, followed by a :30 slow pace, and back and forth 8 times.  So 8 interval sprints.  Upon completing that routine I ran for another 30 minutes at 4.0 and felt pretty good.  Actually, when I first hopeed on the treadmill I wasn't feeling too hot, but after I finished all the junk was out of my trunk.  No more toxins.  I tell you what, you can never give up and never give in.  Unless you are with fever or broken ligaments, it is better to attempt the workout and see how you feel before throwing in the towel for the day!  So happy my workout is in for day 70 of TRI training.

These past 3 weeks, besides working out,  I have been concentrating on eating balanced and properly.  Goal is to eat 3 meals a day with a protein, fiber/grain, fruit and or vegetable at each meal. 2 snacks in the day are important to keep my motor running, and full. The key really is to eat what will fuel my body, and cause its metabolism to work efficiently.  I want all systems in place as I train harder and harder.  Gotta get a swim in this week and a brick...plan is to swim early tomorrow.

LESSON:  Your mind can get overloaded with the pressures of the day, but do not allow that to stop you from your workout goals.  It helps to have a scheduled workout log, which will tell you what days to workout.  That accountability reinforces you to get it done!

I wanted to mention also that since I am cross training for TRI, that the intervals and switching up pace and workouts will naturally help me burn more calories.  For me, a fitness goal like training for a TRI, pushes me harder and encourages me to not skip and not cheat myself!!!!  Today, think about a preparing for race.

May the kefi be with you!
