WOW! That sums up my trip to Washington D.C. March 10. Illinois advocates and I learned so much about the importance of advocating diabetes prevention and cure, and the power of persistence. Pictured here are the more than 200 advocates from across our great nation, I'm in a black jacket in front/right of the man with the umbrella. I also learned from my fellow Illinois advocates, Jared, Katie, Laura and Liz. Thank you for your inspiration to keep fighting and be PRO-ACTIVE. We must never fatigue with our mission to prevent diabetes, and get healthy!!!!!
We Americans are in a state of flux with our wellbeing, but we can rally and educate healthy
living both mentally and physically. Diabetes, a chronic disease in which the body fails to
produce or properly use insulin, a hormone needed to convert sugar, starches and other food
into energy, is forcing the winds to change. If 26 million people are living with diabetes,
another 79 million are with pre-diabetes, and if present trends continue, one in every three
American adults will have diabetes in 2050, then we must educate and inspire our fellow
Americans to employ superior lifestyle choices.
Please join me in the 100 day Kefi Challenge beginning March 25, 2011. More details at kikivale.com contest/promo page.
Until we meet again, keep it healthy and happy today!
